A couple with grown children wanted to create a home where the extended family could come to visit.
The site was re-worked to eliminate the extensive lawns and develop a diverse landscape of native plants.
The house was located to take advantage of a large meadow that was restored to native plantings as part of the project.
The house was sited between the manicured gardens to the north and the native planted meadow to the south so that the house would open onto a diverse set of landscapes.

Insulated concrete forms (ICF) were used for energy efficiency and durability. Cementitious siding with a deep profile was used to replicate the deep shadow lines of traditional wood siding while providing a very durable and low-maintenance finish.
